The force of the accident sent both vehicles into the northbound lane of Highway 36, where they collectively struck two more vehicles.
The accident required state and local highway authorities to close the intersection for several hours. A 38-year-old woman who was injured in the crash was transported via medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, TX. She was listed in stable condition.
